Covid-19/Training courses update

Textile centre building is mostly closed for students until further notice. We are currently working on updating the information and advice for staff and students on how the centre will operate from September 2020. Once the update is completed, we will publish the information on this webpage and promote through our social media channels.

The machine based training will be delivered only when this is safe to do so and is required to complete your training course. We are happy to support and help out students through different ways to e-learning to keep their learning journey continue.

Knitwear or textile tutor offering training and advice within the industry. Having a multi skilled background. Starting on the shop floor on the production line, learning various skills. Advancing onto quality control, sample finishing and product development & working closely with designers. Main production skills being body linking, cutting, pattern making, hand-sew and basic collar linking. Other production skills learnt to a degree.

Having worked in the local textile industry majority of her working life Myra has a passion for the industry willing it to survive in the competitive world market. She is currently working towards being a Modern Apprentice Assessor.
